8th March

Sunday morning was a dry start so the house dogs went out and Kiro and Reo in.
I fed and cleaned narla’s pups out and then brought the house dogs back in.
I went down to the kennel and let everyone out and cleaned the kennels and fed them.
I put Coosa’s group out and then Cito and Shone out in the field, while they were out I did the fire and then changed the field water buckets.
I let the puppies from the house out into the yard and cleaned their room.
I cut up the chicken for lunch time feeds and then changed the vet beds for the bitches and puppies.
I got the bones out for Coosa’s group for tomorrow but have run out of chicken carcasses this is very unusual but I have worked out that I am using 100 kilos a week at the moment.
I had a quick chat with my butchers and I can pick up 20 kilos tomorrow as I can’t wait for the Tuesday delivery.
The dogs on the drive went into the front pen and I picked up in the drive and left the gates open for a customer arriving soon.
I changed the water buckets in the kennel and then they arrived, they were not here long as they wanted an apricot pup and I have only black left.
I fed everyone their chicken and then swapped over dogs on the drive and brought Cito and Shone down to the bottom block.
I had a call from another family wanting to view puppies so I had lunch and then they arrived, they were happy with black puppies so another one has now got a home.
Just as the family were leaving the rain started so I brought the lab group in and then Narla and Siren came in.
The rain was so heavy no one was going out for a while so I wrote today’s blog and then spent some time on the computer.
Next was to get the evening feeds ready, and hope the rain stopped soon so everyone could go out for the last run before bed.
I fed Narla’s pups and hosed their yard in the pouring rain.
I got my dinner in the oven and then the rain stopped so everyone out and fed, the hour and half grace the rain gave me was great, everyone was nearly done and the sky turned black that was it full speed Narla and Siren in and then the lab group in and I ran up and got Coosa’s group in, before Coosa had even finished his dinner it was hammering down again.
I washed all the bowls and put the heat lamps on and then spent half an hour on the computer and finished off todays blog, now time to lock up the kennel and get Kiro and Reo out for the night and Shone and Cito in.
After dinner I had some paper work to do and then the morning feeds, I had an hour to relax and then swept and steam cleaned the floors before bed time.
The wind and hail stones was fierce right through the night.
Monday morning I did the house dogs and put Kiro and Reo in and then fed Narla’s pups and let them out, the house dogs came back in.
I went down to the kennel and when I was the state of everything outside I wished I had gone to bed earlier, the drive was covered in branches and rubbish, there was a tree down in between the double gates at the top of the drive, I tried as hard as I could but could not get it all back over the fence so I rang Kirsty and she said she would come down with Jess as I needed to go out and pick up chicken.
I let all of the dogs out and cleaned them out and fed everyone, after they were all done I had to check all of the fencing around the fields, I am pleased I did as the top fence stopping Coosa’s group getting up to the main boundary and over to the fence line on field two was partly down, I have done a temporary job until the fencing guys can get in.
The big calf kennel used for a shelter in the paddock was upside down, the tarpaulin on the shed was nearly off and flapping everywhere, there were panels blown off of the fence that had been reducing the spacing’s in the fence so the bigger dogs could not get hold of the little dogs.
On a busy day it is frustrating when you have to add hours of unexpected jobs to the day.
I could really do with getting a Saturday lad like I used to have to keep on top of the little jobs to prevent these problems occurring.
There are always jobs to do it would be stupid to say everything is up together because with such a big place you would need to be blind not to find plenty of other jobs around here.
I came in so cold as the wind was freezing and the hail stones weren’t helping much.
I tried to answer emails but my fingers were still frozen so I had a coffee and hoovered the mats in the kennel to thaw out.
I was letting dogs in and out the poor things thought they were being bombed when the hail stones kept coming down.
I went and picked up more chicken carcasses for today and then increased the order by 40 kilos for the time being.
I got home and let more dogs out and then changed the vet beds in the puppy kennels.
Next was to get the chicken cut up ready for lunch time feeding.
Dog were out on and off as the rain kept coming down.
I fed everyone and then picked up bones in Coosa’s field with a little help from River.
I got my dinner ready in one of the hails storms as I knew it was going to be running from a to b getting dogs in and out.
Our next big hail storm I wiped over all of the panelling in the puppies kennels.
I had a number of calls about puppies and future hybrid pups which took up quite a bit of time today.
The afternoon was swapping dogs around and hoovering in the kennels.
I got the evening feeds ready and then fed the bitches and puppies again.
I let the last group out and started to get the morning feeds ready when the hail stones started so in they came and then I brought Coosa’s group in and fed them.
I locked up the kennel and let Kiro and Reo out and then fed Narla’s pups and cleaned them out again and locked them up so I could hose their yard down.
Last was to bring Shone and Cito in for the night and feed them.
Tuesday morning was another slow wet start so I did the house dogs and then put Kiro and Reo away.
Narla’s pups came out for a play in the rain and then had their chicken.
I went down to the kennel and got everyone out and fed them.
I changed all of the vet beds and opened the doors so the puppies could learn to come out and use the paper.
I took all the vet beds back to the house for washing and let Shone and Cito out in the field, I cleaned the bottom block and then let the house poodles out into the yard.
My first delivery of chicken arrived so I cut up 20 kilos and then froze the rest as I knew I had another delivery arriving in the evening.
I stopped quickly for breakfast giving me 15 minutes before my first customer arrived.
She was on time so we looked at the puppies and then she left so I swapped over dogs and then got all the chicken ready for lunch and printed the paper work for the puppies leaving next.
I had to do a toy collection from the kennels as each group had about 10 toys in their kennel and hardly any left out in the drive for them to play with when they are out.
I popped into town to get some bits for my sister as I am over there for dinner tomorrow night, and then I can pick up the drawings from the joiner to send to listed buildings.
I got back and let the next group of dogs and then sorted out the shopping and let the house dogs out.
I went and had a play with the hybrid puppies and then back to the kennel to do some tiding up and get food and shavings in.
I had an owner pop in and pick up food for their dog so we had a quick chat and then the next group of dogs out.
The afternoons are so cold my fingers hate this weather summer needs to come soon please.
I got the morning feeds ready and then fed the bitches and puppies.
My meat delivery arrived so I cut up the chicken for the next day lunch time feeds and then took it all up to the fridge in the kennels.
I let the last group out and brought Coosa’s group in and fed them.
Everyone locked up for the night in the kennels and Narla’s pups fed and locked up.
Kiro and Reo out in the drive, Shone and Cito in the house.
Wednesday morning was dry and very cold, house dogs done and then Narla’s pups out and fed.
Kiro and Reo in.
I went down and let the first groups out in the kennels and fed the puppies, second group also out in the field.
Everyone cleaned and fed, Coosa’s group out in the field and then Cito and Shone out in the next field, house puppies loose in the house.
The lab group were out in the drive so I looked out of the office window and saw them all with old dirty bones, I went to have a look, Kiro had taken the block from the top of the bone bin during the night and knocked the bin over, I retrieved the bones and put the bin outside of the main gates so that will spoil her fun for tonight.
I quickly went to cash and carry; I was home in just over an hour.
When I got back I brought Cito and Shone in and then fed Coosa’s group.
I let everyone else out and sorted out the chicken and then got the frozen food out for the next day.
Pearl, Gordon and Tracy arrived with bags of newspapers which I must say were gratefully received we were starting to get desperate, poor Wendy is my only real newspaper supplier and she has to go around and pick it up from people for me.
We had a coffee and a chat as Pearl and family have a number of Wolfzone dogs and it’s so nice to hear how they are all getting along.
We went and had a chat with the hybrid puppies waiting to go to their new homes, they were surprised how open and friendly the pups all were, it has taken a lot of time to make them social the way they are and having three has been harder, but all the time put into them has paid off.
They were shocked on the male Teeko being such a little thug they thought he was great.
My next customers arrived so Pearl and the family left and I showed the people my puppies, after they left I did all of the lunch time feeds.
I left dogs out in the field and on the drive and went and had lunch and cleaned the puppy room and fed them.
I spent the afternoon with each group of dogs and then wrote the grooming list for Hannah for Friday.
I got the evening feeds ready and unloaded the food I had bought for the bitches.
I swapped groups in the drive and field and then jumped in the bath so I was ready to go out later as the day just flies by.
After a nice peaceful bath I let the house dogs out in the yard and then went up kennel and changed over groups out in the paddock and drive.
Everyone in and fed and clean and the kennels locked up, Kiro out Narla pups away and the house dogs all in.
I went to my sisters for dinner.
We had a great evening and as always a very special meal my sister is a bit of a Delia in the kitchen, she would be good on master chef.
I got home fairly early for me and let the house dogs out and then did the morning feeds and checked on the hybrid pups, and then coffee and bed.
Thursday morning was bright and sunny a beautiful start to the day.
The house dogs went out and then Kiro in and Narla’s puppies out with food.
I went down to the kennels and let everyone out and fed them and cleaned the kennels.
Coosa’s group were out in the field and Cito and Shone went out in the top kennel area and field one.
The house dogs went out in the bottom yard, I cleaned the house puppies’ room and then steam cleaned the floor.
While I was in the house I stripped the bed human and dog beds upstairs so I could get all of the washing done while the sun was shining.
I went back up to the kennels and changed all of the vet beds and then wormed the puppies.
I got the paper work done for the pups leaving this weekend.
Next was to cut up chicken ready for lunch time feeding and then bring Cito and Shone back down for food.
I fed everyone and then sorted out six bags of the paper that Pearl brought down for me it’s all de stapled and stacked in the kennels ready for the puppies.
Next was to shred paper for the bedding for the adult dogs.
I stopped for lunch and made a couple of phone calls and then emailed listed buildings with more drawings.
I had a chap come to view the hybrids and CsV’s with a view of having a pup at some point.
I took the house poodles and the hybrid puppies up the drive for a run and then came back and cleaned Rupert’s ears, they have not been too good this week.
Several trips back to the house to change the washing and drying over.
I cleaned the bottom block and then picked up in the drive and put some more toys out for them to play with; I think Kiro has buried some of them.
I got the shavings in for the next day and a bag of food and then hoovered some more dust from Narla’s kennel and the puppy’s kennels.
Evening feeds ready and morning feeds done, I had chicken breast to cook for the yorkies, so I sorted out my dinner at the same time.
Narla’s pups went in with their food and I hosed the yard.
I was short on chicken for Coosa tonight so I gave the rest of them chews and Coosa had fish and skins he was not impressed at all, he refused to go into his kennel as he hadn’t had his chicken so I picked him up and carried him in.
I locked up and let Reo and Kiro out and had a play with them with a ball in the drive.
On the way back into the house I had a play with Narla’s puppies this is always full on as Teeko is a hooligan but a brilliant character, he is going to be a handful for Brett, I am not worried as Brett will manage with him and he said he needs a challenge, so that is what he has got.
I came in and had dinner and feed the house dogs and wrote the blog before my brain shut down for the night.
My last jobs were to clip Rupert’s feet and do his ears and then pick up all the toys and hoover the lounge and kitchen.

Friday morning was bright and sunny so house dogs out, Narla’s pups out and fed and then Kiro and Reo back in for the day.
I went out and opened the gates for Hannah and the two meat deliveries and then let the bitches and yorkies out in the drive and Razzle’s group out in the field, I fed the puppies and then got the bitches food ready.
All cleaned out ready for them coming back in.
The next groups all went out and I cleaned everyone out and got the feeds all done.
Hannah arrived and started grooming the house poodles first.
Coosa’s group were out in the field and Cito and Shone out in field one, the house poodles out yard.
I went shopping and was back within half an hour.
The first meat delivery arrived so I got the first 20 kilos cut up and then I swapped over dogs and washed another vet bed.
Kate arrived to pick up bones and stayed for a couple of hours with the children.
I fed the dogs their chicken and we had lunch and then the next chicken delivery arrived so I cut up 10 kilo’s and froze the rest.
I was hoping to get some time to help Hannah but I was too busy with everything else.
The weather stayed nice so dogs were out all day and then one of my hybrids went off to a new home today, I had to spend quite some time with the new owners.
It was a very busy day but other than talking to people and spending a little time with each group of dogs not much else achieved but it was a good day and all of the dogs were very happy either eating bones, playing or sleeping.
I did all of the feeds for the next morning and evening, everyone was fed and Coosa’s group came down in the dark and then I fed and locked up the hybrid pups and let Kiro and Reo out and brought Cito and Shone in.
Saturday morning was a nice sunny day, I put the house dogs out and fed Narla’ pups early as Brett is picking up Teeko at lunch time.
I got the frozen feeds out for the next morning and then put Kiro and Reo away.
The house dogs came back in for food and I went down to the kennel and let the bitches and yorkies out and then Razzles group, I fed everyone and cleaned them all out and put Coosa’s group out in the paddock and field two, Cito and Shone went out into field one and the house dogs out in the yard with the door open to go back into the house.
I put the first lot of washing on and then did the fire and moved loads of compost.
All the dogs were just lazing around in the fields and in pens.
Dave arrived for a week to help out, we unloaded the paper and stuff from the car and then had a coffee, and then Dave went out and checked and filled all of the bait boxes for the rodents as my pest control guy has now retired.
I fed everyone their chicken and then got all of the bowls washed up and then picked up right through the paddock while Dave picked up all of the bones in Coosa’s field.
Dave picked up a load of glass from where the windscreen went on the tractor when they were putting up fencing in field three.
I had some things to do in the office and then got the evening and morning feeds ready.
I spent some time with Narla’s pups and then we sorted out the printer as it was being temperamental all week.
I fed the house dogs and then we had dinner.
I brought all of the dogs in and Dave picked up in the drive as we had a dog going late tonight.
I brought Coosa’s group in and fed them and then washed up the bowls for the morning and wrote the blog.
