15th March

Saturday night was a late one as we had a puppy leave late.
Sunday morning was an early start as we had to get the house dogs done before going to meet a new puppy owner in South Molton to drop off their puppy, I could not let them come into the kennels as it would have upset all of the dogs.
We got home and then got the rest of the dogs done and the vet beds washed and dried.
Everyone was fed and cleaned out and then Coosa’s group went out and Shone and Cito went out in the field.
Dave disinfected the bottom block and I power washed the yard and steps.
My next job was paper work for a puppy leaving, my new owners arrived and then the puppy left and I did the lunch time feeding.
We went over to my sisters for lunch which was not a problem as it was raining.
We got home and let everyone was out as the weather was much better.
Cito and Shone came in and had food.
I power washed the bottom yard and then time was getting on so I did the evening feeds ready and the morning feeds ready.
I got all of the chicken out for the next day and left it in the house defrost.
The last hybrid puppy has now moved into the house with the poodles, she has settled in well with them.
I fed everyone and then brought Coosa’s group in and fed them.
I locked up the kennel and then let Kiro and Reo out with their food.
Shone and Cito came in for the night with the little dogs.
We had dinner and then did very little for the rest of the night.
Monday morning was an early start as we had to leave for the vets by 8.15.
The house dogs went out and then came in for food, I put Kiro and Reo in and then we went down and did the kennel dogs and then put Coosa’s group out and Shone and Cito went out into the top kennel area and field one.
We locked up everything and put the hybrid bitch and the yorkipoo into the van and off to the vets.
When we got home I put the yorkiepoo back with his mum and brother and Sara the hybrid bitch went out in the yard for her food as she had not had any breakfast.
Dave cleaned the cage out in my van ready for training this week.
Everyone went out and then had their chicken for lunch, Kirsty popped in and picked up my sat nav as she was off to see a new job.
We had lunch and then swapped over dogs.
I power washed the front pen at the new kennels and Dave swept up the stones and cleared the drains.
My next job was in the office for a couple of hours and Dave cut the ivy growing up the trees to try and stop so much weight on the tree, Jess told me this was why the tree came down on the drive the other night in the wind.
The late afternoon weather was drizzly and horrible, so the dogs only went out for short runs.
Evening feeding all done and the dogs were all in by 5.30
Tuesday morning was nice so the house dogs went out and then Sara had her hatch open so she could go out in the yard.
All the kennel dogs were out and fed and then most came back in.
We stripped out Coosa’s kennel and Dave washed the walls from top to bottom and then cleaned all of the kennel and dried it.
I burnt all the rubbish and the first meat delivery arrived so I cut up the first 40 kilo’s and kept what I needed for the lunch time feeds.
I swapped over dogs and then stripped out the labs kennel and Dave cleaned that one and dried it.
I sorted out the next 40 kilos of meat and froze it.
Shone and Cito came in to the bottom yard and had food.
I cleaned the puppy room in the house and re papered it ready for the evening.
All the vey beds were washed.
Lunch time feeding all done and then Garry arrived for the afternoon as he was down this way picking up panels.
We had a couple of cups of coffee and then looked at all of the dogs.
I swapped groups a couple of times while Garry was here.
Dave cleaned out and re stocked a couple of bait boxes so we can keep on top of it no pest control guy has retired.
G left just after 5 pm.
I got the evening feeds done and then fed all of the bitches and cleaned them out again.
Coosa’s group came in or food and then Kiro and Reo went out and Narla’s pup Sara came wandering into the house so I left the rest of the dogs out for a while and just had her in.
We had dinner and then the rest of the dogs came in for the night Cito stayed upstairs as she doesn’t like the pup.
Wednesday morning the forecast was not meant to be good so we had another early start as I wanted all of the dogs out before Hannah and Tracey arrived to groom.
After everyone was out and first clean done we burnt all the rubbish and put Cito and Shone out in the field.
Next we stripped out Budds kennel and gave it a full clean; Dave dried it while I got all of the frozen food out for the morning.
After they came in Dave picked up in the drive ready for Tracey coming in and then I stripped out Razzles kennel and cleaned it and then Dave dried it while I did some paper work.
I picked up in the bottom block and the yard before Cito and Shone came back in.
Next was to get my van ready for training and load food.
Kirsty came down and had Lupus’s nails trimmed again.
Dave popped out and picked up lunch as we won’t get time to eat later as we leave early for training.
I fed everyone their lunch time feeds and then we had lunch.
Dave put up a new light at the top of the drive so when I forget my head torch I can see to open the padlock.
I had a quick bath and then power washed Kiro’s yard while Dave picked up the rest of the glass at the top of the drive outside field three from when the tractor wind screen broke.
Next a pallet of food was delivered from Royal canin so we unload that and then I had to help Hannah do Rupert’s ears.
I got the evening feeds ready and then got changed and hoovered in the kennel and then cleaned the wet room up after grooming.
I fed everyone e and put Shiraz in the van and then put Sara away and brought Shone and Cito in and then Coosa’s group came in for food.
I left Hannah to finish off and went off to training with Shiraz and Dave.
We had a good night a little quieter than normal as a few were ill and some people had visitors.
The night went well and then we came home and fed the house dogs.
Cito and Shone really do not like Sara the hybrid and the house poodles are not keen on her either.
I gave it quite a bit of thought last night as she is very sweet and desperately wants the other dogs to like her, I decided that I would move the Labrador pack as they are very friendly and would be nice to her.
Thursday morning was a really cold start, the house dogs went out and then Sara came out and they were all fed
Kiro went in and we went down to the kennels and got everyone out, fed and cleaned.
Coosa’s group went out in the paddock and field two and then Cito and Shone went out in field one.
We did the fire and left a group of dogs out in the drive.
I took the lab puppies down to move them into the bottom yard and kennel with Sara the hybrid; I had to spend quite a bit of time with them as she was not too happy about being invaded by the ginger ninja pack.
We still had a load of scrap by the front of the drive that should have been picked up weeks ago, in the end I got fed up with phoning the scrap company so we loaded up my van and took it all up to be scrapped in South Molton.
We got home and then I got everyone fed as you could see the weather was going to take a turn for the worse.
We stopped for lunch and then spent the afternoon doing paper works the dogs were not going out in this weather.
As you can see this is why the dogs are not allowed out in the field when we have a lot of rain.

Before when he looks lovely

After!

I did the evening feeds and the morning biscuit ready; we did another hour on paper work and letting out dogs where I could
I spent some time with Sara and the lab group they are now all happy and settled together, it is so nice to see her with friends.
Everyone was fed and cleaned again and Coosa’s group came in and then I locked up the kennel and brought Shone and Cito in.
The puppies went into their room the lab group went in with their chicken and kiro went out for the night.
We got changed ad went out to Nathan’s for an Indian take away as its Laura’s birthday this weekend.
We had a nice meal and then back home to get the house dogs out and morning feeds ready.
Friday morning was a wet start; in fact it was wet most of the day so it was getting dogs out were possible.
Everyone was out fed and cleaned and then Coosa’s group went out in the field and paddock one and Cito went out in field one.
We did the fire and Dave picked up in the drive for the first meat delivery coming in.
Dave sorted out one of my outside lights and I power washed one of Coosa’s pens and the top track.
Dave picked up all the bones and then poo picked Coosa’s field.
I sorted out the first meat delivery and got the lunch time chicken into the fridge.
Everyone had their chicken and then we stopped for lunch, just as we had finished another delivery from Royal canin arrived so I unloaded that into the office area as the container is full up.
I hoovered the kennel and office area and then Dave washed the floors.
The second meat delivery just arrived so I sorted out 40 kilo’s of chicken and then got the evening feeds ready.
I did some of the blog and then had a chat to one of my hybrid owners she is in the midlands, her little girl Bee is doing very well and has struck up a bond with her Alpha female, so all is going well with all the hybrid pups and Sara is really happy with her new group.
I fed everyone and then off to my sisters for another Delia delight, it was even better as Dave was driving so I had a few glasses of wine.
We came home late and let the house dogs out and then bed.
Saturday morning was nice and dry the house dogs went out and had breakfast and then came back in.
Kiro went in and then I fed Sara and the lab group.
Next was down to the kennel to get everyone out and fed.
It was a bit of a rush as I had someone coming to view their puppy at 9.15 and needed to have everyone done and the drive cleaned up to let them in.
After they had left the gates were shut again for an hour before the next people arrived.
Once they had gone I checked the fencing in Coosa’s field and then burnt all of the rubbish and tidied up the muck heap.
I cleaned the labs kennel and had a play with them, while I was in their area I got the frozen feeds out for the next day.
Cito and Shone came in and so did the house poodles.
I swapped dogs and then stripped out another kennel ready to move my labradoodle who is due to have puppies.
I moved another litter of pups and then stripped out their kennel.
Dave hoovered some more dust from the beams and the top part of the kennel that is difficult to reach.
I took some pictures to email to customers.
After the kennels were cleaned and dried I did the lunch time feeds and everyone was fed so we stopped for lunch.
Next job was to clean the puppy room in the house and spray the floors, Dave did this while I was with a customer.
I swapped Coosa’s group into another field.
I was on the phone and answering emails while Dave was doing the accounts.
I fed the lab group and then cleaned their yard and locked them up.
I did the evening feeds and then put the yorkies and the poodles outside so I could bring Coosa’s group in without them all barking.
Everyone was fed and then Coosa’s group came in and had food.
The yorkies and the bitches came in and then all the bowls were washed up, the kennel locked up and Kiro out for the night, Shone and Cito came in and had food with the poodles.
We had dinner and then I wrote the blog, that’s it for the evening now time to relax for the night.
