22nd February

Sunday morning was an early start; the house dogs were out before 7 am, house puppies out and back in for food.
Kiro and Reo in and then Narla and the puppies out but no food as one of the pups was leaving at 9.30 and I didn’t want her to be sick on the way home.
We went up to the kennels and let the yorkies and bitches with pups out first.
Siren and Jez went out in the field.
I got the feeds ready and cleaned out the kennels of the dogs that were out and Dave brought up the dry towels bags of food and meat bins ready for lunch time feeding.
All the dogs back in and the next two groups went out, we cleaned them out and got their feeds ready.
After everyone was cleaned and out Coosa’s group went out into the paddock and field.
After all of the dogs were out I sorted the fire and then the paper work for Narla’s puppy going.
Dave re planted a line of trees and plants that the rabbits have pulled up by the root, we needed to get them back in the ground or the frost will kill them.
The puppy owner arrived and we went out and spent some time with Narla and the pups.
After we had been through everything off the little girl went to her new home.
Narla and the pups had a very late breakfast as I did not want the puppy leaving to eat.
My next customer was coming down the drive as the first one was just leaving.
They were here to look at a poodle litter.
Now everyone has gone so Dave locks up the gates and out the next group of dogs go.
Everyone out and fed we stopped quickly for lunch.
I let the house dogs out and then we went back to the kennel and washed one of the big kennels from top to bottom and towel dried it ready to move Razzle and Peaches in that afternoon.
I got the due whelping dates ready for the next litters all up to date in the diary.
Dave fixed the lock on Coosa’s kennel door as last night the lock wouldn’t turn so I had to secure the door with a dog lead.
Everyone was fed and came in for just after 6 pm kennel locked up Narla and the puppies fed and locked in.
I hosed the yard and then let Reo and Kiro out for the night.
We had dinner and a rest for a couple of hours before bed.
Monday morning it was a horrible wet start all the house dogs went out in the bottom block and Narla and the puppies went out in their yard, Narla is now getting restless so I am going to move her later today in with siren and move Jez my lab in with my labradoodles as she could come into season and Saarloos x labs I do not want.
I brought the little house dogs in and then I put Kiro and Reo back in for the day and we went down to the kennels and let each pen out individually so it was quicker to get them back in some went in the field and some in the drive.
Dave brought up the meat and towels and stuff from the house while I started feeding and cleaning.
After everyone was finished Dave scraped and dried Coosa’s kennel and then did the fire while I was on the phone to the bank trying to sort out my online banking.
After I finally got off the phone the rain had stopped so I put Cito and Shone out in the field and then moved Narla up into the kennel with Siren and moved my lab.
Dave picked up in the drive and then moved the bins with the dirty old bones outside of the main gates so we don’t have to have the lorry coming in the drive for collections.
Next Dave picked up all the bones and plastic and rubbish from Coosa’s field while I cut up the chicken for lunch time feeds.
Dave loaded his car ready for his trip home and I made a couple of phone calls and then Dave left and I brought Cito and Shone in and then fed everyone and put more dogs out in the field and the yard.
I had a phone call from my sister asking me if I had any plans for 6 months’ time.
My nephew is getting married in Scotland, I rang Vicci and she said she can do most of the dogs if the hybrids stay out in the field and the top kennel area.
She cannot do Reo as they do not get along so kirsty said she will come down to put Reo and Kiro out overnight and back in mornings with their food.
Next I rang Kirsty and she said yes no problem at all.
Dave said he will stay here with Vicci and help with cleaning and any other jobs.
I am so lucky to have some brilliant friends it helps so much when you have this number of dogs and need to get away, I am really looking forward to a family wedding and getting away for a whole weekend, also I have never been to Scotland, my sister has checked out all the flight details looked into booking luxury accommodation with a swimming pool where we can all stay together, it will be great I can’t wait.
It wouldn’t be possible without the help from Vicci, Kirsty and Dave.
I went and sat in the yard with the two hybrid puppies and had a play I wanted to take pictures but they were all over me so it was not possible to get any pictures.
I ordered some more Royal canin and then some fish skins and rolls for all of the dogs for treats.
I cleaned the puppy room in the house and steam cleaned the floor and re papered for the little pups and the poodles.
I swapped dogs that were out and then got Coosa’s food done for the next morning.
I fed all of the kennel dogs and then brought Coosa’s group in and Cito and Shone came in, Kiro and reo went out for the night.

Tuesday morning was a cold dry start, all of the house dogs went out and the puppies came back in for food.
Narlas pups went out in the yard with their chicken carcasses.
Kiro and Reo went back in to their kennel for the day.
I went up to the kennel and let the yorkies and bitches out in the drive and then Razzles group out in the field.
I did all of their feeds and cleaned the kennels and put the feeds in ready for them coming in.
Next out was budds group in the drive and Narla and Siren in the field, kennels cleaned and back in.
Coosa’s group out in the field, and the lab and little pups out in the drive.
I finished cleaning and washed the bowls and then checked my emails.
Next was Shone and Cito out in the field while I did the fire.
I put the house dogs out in the yard and the bottom block and then spent some time with the two hybrid pups, the female is called Sara and the male is called Wolfzone winter Teeko.
The first meat delivery arrived so I cut up 20 kilos of chicken carcasses and then swapped dogs in the field and drive.
I fed everyone their lunch and then spent half an hour on the computer.
Next was to clean the house dogs and puppies room and move my poodle back down to the kennel with her puppies, this gives me my cage back in the house for Shone when I need to put her in.
The next chicken order arrived which was 40 kilos so I cut up 30 and just froze the rest as I was getting bored with chicken now.
I picked up in the front pen and the drive and then Kirsty arrived so we had a coffee and then sat in with the hybrids for an hour.
After Kirsty left I got the evening feeds ready and then swapped dogs over and started feeding.
I got the morning feeds ready and then put the bedding down for Coosa’s group coming in.
I brought Coosa’s group in and fed them and then washed the bowls and locked up the kennel and let Kiro and Reo out for the night.

Wednesday morning the sun was shining and it looked glorious outside, little house dogs and Shone and Cito out.
Kiro and Reo in, Narla’s puppies out with food.
I went down to the kennel and let the first groups out, cleaned kennels and fed everyone.
Coosa’s group went out and then Cito and Shone up into the field.
I did the fire and then went in for breakfast, I had a few phone calls to make so I did that while I was in, and then my nephew sent me a message to confirm the wedding date so we can book flights and accommodation weekend.

My Royal canin order arrived, so I put mine in the garage and the rest in my van to take with me.
I cut up the chicken and then fed everyone in the kennels and then down to the house and fed everyone down there.
I had lunch and then cleaned the puppy room out and brought Cito and Shone in so I could feed Coosa’s group.
A heap of vet beds to get washed and dried, not quite drying weather outside yet.
I got the evening feeds ready in the kennel as the evening is always a rush and especially when I need to get out for training and everyone has to be locked up and fed before I go.
Vets booked for more vaccines and rabies injections tomorrow evening.
Adverts renewed and emails done for now.
I washed the bottom block and then the yard, I thought I would be able to do a quick disinfect of the dirty patches in the yard where Narla’s pups are, no it was not quick I had not one but two little helpers, one in the bucket and the helping with the broom and no shoe laces left, joy don’t you just love them, baby hybrids turn into baby headaches when you are in a rush, it took me twice as long but still it was worth it to see how much fun they had.
All the dogs were out for the afternoon as the weather was nice.
I did the evening feeds and the morning biscuits already in the house and the kennels ready for everyone coming in.
I brought some more shavings in for the morning and some shredded paper.
Everyone was fed, toilet and put to bed then Coosa’s group came in and I fed them and locked up the kennel and then Cito and Shone came in and Narla’s pups had their food and were locked up, then I got changed and off to training with Shiraz.
This was our last week of this term so we did some serious training and then had a bit of a play with the dogs and then clean up hall and off home.
I got in late so I let kiro and Reo out and then fed the house dogs and washed up before cleaning out the puppies.
House dogs came in for a late feed and then I had an hour with the dogs watching Tv and went to bed.
Thursday morning was disgusting it was so wet and horrible.
I did the house dogs and then did the kennel dogs; it took me longer as I could only put one group out at a time as it was so wet.
I rang the vet and changed my appointment to morning as it was so nasty I couldn’t let the dogs out so I thought it would be good to get the passport out of the way.
I put Sara in the van and off to the vets, she was very good a little sick but not too bad.
I got the first part of the passport done and then dropped into my sisters to give her the wormer she had ordered; I had a coffee and then back home.
I put Sara back in with Teeko which made him happy and fed them.
I got everyone out to the toilet as soon as I got in and then started to cut up chicken ready for lunch.
Everyone was fed and Cito and Shone went out in the field.

Hannah arrived and started to groom Murtle as she is leaving tomorrow.
Everyone had been out and fed, Coosa’s group were out in the field o I took the rubbish up to burn and put Shone and Cito out.
The meat delivery arrived so I put the house dogs out in the bottom yard and the bottom block and sorted out the meat for today and tomorrow’s lunch, already in the fridge.
I swapped dogs around working with Hannah on who was being groomed so they did not miss out on any time outside playing.
Hannah stopped for lunch and kirsty arrived to have Lupus’s nails trimmed.
After Kirsty left then Hannah helped me microchip puppies.
I fed everyone and then Hannah carried on with grooming.
I spent the afternoon sorting out paper work and swapping dogs around outside.
After the horrible morning yesterday with the rain it was nice to see how happy the dogs are when they get the extra time out in the dry weather.

Next was Budds group in the drive and the labs and mixed puppies out in the field.
Wendy and Brian arrived and brought newspaper, bread and cake and doughnuts.
Brian had also made me a very nice bowl from one of the tree’s he cut down here last year.
Narla and Siren went out and then Coosa’s group went into the field.
I burnt the rubbish and put Cito and Shone out into field one and Wendy cleaned up in the drive and we went out for breakfast which was a nice surprise Wendy bought us a full English.
We stopped in mole valley on the way home and picked up a van full of shavings.
We got home and unloaded the van and then started to get dogs all swapped around and then I fed everyone their chicken while Wendy and Brian spent some time with the hybrid puppies, Wendy looked like she had been dragged through a hedge backwards when she came out.
I went on the internet and ordered another £100 of fish skins for the dogs.
We went up to the top kennel area to see what jobs we were going to do up there come the spring.
We had a coffee and then Wendy and Brian left.
I swapped over dogs in the drive and then did some paper work.
I have put Peaches in the house for a while to see if Chili gets the idea of mating yet, unfortunately not yet.
I spent the afternoon swapping dogs around and then did the evening feeds and washed the hybrids yard.
The house dogs were playing in the drive while I cleaned the bottom block.
I fed everyone and then brought Coosa’s group in and locked up the kennels.
Narlas pups were fed and then came into the house for a few hours with the poodles and Cito and Shone.
