wolf dog webcam

18th September

Wolf dog puppies are all reserved, our next litters are in about five weeks time, one litter will be Saarloos timber wolf hybrid puppies.
The next litters will be purebred Czechoslovakian wolf dog puppies.
All being well if there are deposits in for any more pups then it will be a Saarloos Czech Inuit cross litter.
As all of Meli pups will be leaving soon there will be a short time before the next litter is out in the whelping area on the web cam, the camera will probably be turned off for a short while and the area will be used for one of our bitches in season that we are not mating.
All of this years re home dogs are settled in and doing very well.
Sarah regularly gives me an update on Cito she is in a family home with a Boots pup and a young boxer.
Zamu is doing very well he lives with a rough collie and a wolf dog.
Vinnie is very happy in Scotland with two border collies.
Last Sunday I had a day off and went to the last round of motocross. It was a really good day, all was well at home Vicci did the kennels with out any problems.
Idaho is being a pain at the moment she has decided that she will not allow Vicci or Kate into her kennel so I have the job of cleaning her pen and feeding her.
This has been a very lucky week for two of my friends with female wolf look a like dogs both very nearly died from pyometra, one was a maiden bitch and the other a breed bitch.
I have advised owners before if you are not breeding your bitch then get them spayed it is the healthy option in the long run.
It is always advisable to let them have one season then spay 12 weeks after.
We have known several bitches to get a pyo three weeks after the second season, by the time the owner realizes there is something wrong the infection is so far advanced your bitch is then in the lap of the gods and a good vet.
If you have mated your bitch make sure you scan them at 30 days or you may think she is in pup when actually she is not, she is in the later stages of a pyo.
This weekend has been totally disastrous, I was trying to whelp a litter and someone was looking at a wolf dog adult, I lost a puppy, as I was not with the bitch when she produced the pup.
This particular Labrador female does not take her own puppies out of the sack or do the cords herself.
Once this is all done for her she is fine from then on.
Even more bad news due to a major personal change in family circumstances Vicci will not be here, she will be completing her grooming course and staying at home as she needs to be with her family.
This is probably the worst news we could have with winter approaching rapidly.
I need to start advertising for someone else, as this will be really hard on Kate and I.
I may consider letting a couple more adult dogs go, the plan was to spay them and keep them but this may not be possible now.
Rehome dogs
Storm, 2 years old Saarloos cross Inuit, big gentle giant very friendly good in the house or in a kennel, vaccinated wormed micro chipped castrated.
His only fault is he pulls on the lead sometimes.
He has got a floppy ear, which does make him look a little dopey.
