15th February

Sunday morning was bright and absolutely glorious.
The house dogs went out and then came in for breakfast.
Narla and the puppies went out with their food.
Kiro and Reo went back in the kennel for the day.
I went up to the kennel and got the feeds ready.
I let the bitches with pups and the yorkies, I cleaned them all out and put their food in ready for them coming back in.
Everyone was cleaned and fed and out by 8.45.
I put Coosa’s group out in the field and then did the fire and picked up in the paddock with help from Coosa.
Shone and Cito went out in the field.
While they were out I put the house dogs out and cleaned their pen and did the puppies.
I picked up in the drive and opened the gates just as my first customer arrived.
They were here or a long time as they have a son with allergy problems.
My next customer came and put down a deposit and then off they went.
The first customer bought the puppy.
I locked up the gates and let the next group of dogs out.
Coosa’s group went up to the top kennel area for food and Cito and Shone went down to the bottom block with food.
My sister phoned up and asked me over for dinner, roast chicken, I am looking forward to that with a nice homemade crumble.
I fed everyone their chicken carcasses and then got the frozen chicken out for the next day and Coosa’s bones and chicken up to the kennel for tomorrow.

I gave the house dogs a good run up and down the drive chasing a ball, Rupert was so fast for an oldie he got the ball every time, a couple of times he dropped it when Chianti batted him around the head but she only managed to actually bring it back to me twice.
After half an hour they were shattered so I took Loupy out with them for the last 20 minutes while I picked up the drive and the pen and then brought them all back to the house.
Loupy is due have puppies next Wednesday so I wanted to keep an eye on her.
After everyone was in and fed I locked the kennel up and fed Kiro and Reo and then fed Narla and the puppies and locked them up.
Cito and Shone came in.
I got washed and changed and then off to my sisters for dinner.
We had a good night and very nice dinner all home grown vegetables free range chicken and homemade chocolate brownies; this is the first meal apart from soup I have eaten for eight days.
I came home just after 10pm so I had time with the house dogs before bed.
I let Kiro and Reo out and then came in and let the house dogs out, loupy jumped up to say hello and her waters broke so I took her out in the yard on her own and let the rest of the dogs out in the bottom block.
They all came in and went to bed, Loupy started whelping, she had the puppies fairly easily not too much pushing and they were out, they are strong and very active.
It was a long night as she didn’t finish until 4 am and then I changed her vet bed and put the dirty one into wash and went and joined Cito, Shone and Rupert in bed.
Monday morning I was up at 7am and felt quite tired, the house dogs out and then put Kiro and Reo back in.
Narla and the puppies went out with food and then I went down to the kennel and let everyone out and cleaned the kennels and fed them.
Coosa’s group went out into the paddock and field two; Shone and Cito went out into the top kennel area and field one.
The house dogs went out into the bottom black and the bottom yard while I cleaned their room out and wash the floors.
Then I cut up all of the chicken for lunchtime feeds.
The afternoon dogs were out in the drive and fields.
I cleaned the bottom block which took me ages.
Next job was to pick up in the drive and then start getting the evening feeds done.
I put Narla and the puppies away and hosed their yard and then Coosa’s group came down it was dark now so they were good, straight into the kennel no messing around.
Everyone was fed and the kennel all locked up.
Kiro and Reo out.
Shone and Cito came in for the night house dogs went out in the bottom block and yard.
House dogs in and fed and time for dinner and an early night for me.

Tuesday morning was a nice bright start, house dogs out and Kiro in, Narla and the puppies out in the yard.
I went down to the kennel and opened the gates ready for Hannah and Tracy arriving at 8 pm to groom the little dogs.
I let the yorkies and the bitches with puppies out first while I was making the feeds.
I cleaned them all out and then swapped groups.
Everyone was done fed and cleaned.
The first meat delivery arrived, I put Coosa’s group out and then Cito and Shone out in the field.
I put the house dogs out in the bottom block.
I started doing the meat and then Christian arrived with Noomi.
I brought Shone and Cito in and put Coosa in the paddock and the rest of his group into the top kennel area with food, this would give Coosa and Noomi a chance to get to know each other.
Shone and Cito came in and the next meat delivery arrived, I got the chicken ready for the lunchtime feeds and spent the rest of the day in-between moving dogs around and doing jobs sorting and cutting up the meat.
Hannah and Tracy managed to get ten dogs bathed and groomed.
I was about to go up to the kennel and see if Rupert was ready to come back down after his grooming and the phone rang I was 20 minutes talking to someone about hybrids.
When I got off the phone and went to go out to get Rupert, Hannah had tried to carry him back down to the house but Ru objected and bit her and jumped out of her arms, she was stood in the drive waiting for me with two fingers bleeding, she came in and cleaned her hand up and put some cream and plasters on.
I had a bit of spare time in the afternoon to get a curry ready for our evening meal.
Christian took Noomi off for a walk while I sorted out the rest of the dogs; it was dark when Coosa’s group came in.
I fed everyone and then Hannah left.
I got the morning feeds ready and then we came in for dinner.
After dinner I put Narla and the puppies away and Kiro and Reo went out in the top kennel area and field one as I wasn’t sure if Christian would need to take Noomi out in the night.
I cleared up and then got the morning feeds ready and washed another load of towels from the grooming.
I cut up and cooked some liver for Shiraz for training and then cut up 10 kilos of lamb and cooked a couple of trays of fat to make paddywacs.
I was shattered now so time for writing the blog and then bed.
Wednesday morning I did the house dogs and then brought Kiro and Reo down from the top kennel area, Narla and the puppies went out in their yard.
I went down to the kennel; Christian had slept in the van with Noomi as she would not settle in the bedroom.
I got everyone out and sorted by 8.30 and then put Shone and Cito out in the field and Coosa’s group in the second field.
Christian and I went out for breakfast, after food I came home and Christian took Noomi for a walk and then came back a couple of hours later to put her in with Coosa.
I put the house dogs out for a while and then a customer came and dropped off a puppy they had taken at the weekend as their son had taken a terrible allergic reaction to the dogs, the family were devastated.
I settled the puppy in and then brought the house dogs in and Cito and Shone came down.
I managed to get everyone fed their chicken and then Christian arrived back, Coosa and Noomi went out in the paddock and I kept a watch on them while Christian went and had some sleep for a few hours.
I got the frozen feeds out for the morning and the puppy room ready for tonight when I go off to training with Shiraz.
All the dogs alternated out in the drive for the afternoon.
Trying to get quotes for shipping to far east countries is a total pain in the rear it takes ages and the paper work is even worse, people think you should go through all this before they pay a deposit well this is the last time, if they cannot show commitment then they can get their own quotes.
I fed everyone and brought Coosa’s group in and locked up the kennel.
Next was Narla and the puppies in with food.
Shone into the house, this will be Shone’s first night not in a cage as the poodle has her cage at the moment, so I left her in the kitchen with Cito.
Rupert and the yorkie stayed in the lounge and then Kiro and Reo went out in the top kennel area and fields as I needed to make sure they could not get near Christian and Noomi.
I put Shiraz in the van and off we went to training.
We had a good night all the classes went well, Shiraz was really good.
I came home and had a chat with Christian and then did my dogs and got the morning feeds ready.
Thursday morning I did the house dogs and then the kennel dogs.
Christian went off for an hour so with Noomi for a walk.
I put Cito and Shone out in the field and the labs and a small dog group out in the front pen.
They all stayed out while Christian and I went off to breakfast.
When we got back I moved Cito and Shone down to the bottom block and Coosa went in the paddock with Noomi the rest of the hybrid group went in the top kennel area and field one with food.
The house dogs went out into the yard and I cleaned their pen out ready for the evening.
I got the chicken cut up for feeding at lunch time.
The kennel dogs alternated in the drive and then all had lunch.
I still had two big kennels to clean so I got on with that in between letting dogs out.
I had someone come and view a puppy but they went off to think about it as they have an old cat.
Dave arrived and started to dry the last kennel I had cleaned ready for Coosa’s group coming in later.
Christian left with Noomi for their long drive back to Germany, I put Coosa back out with his group for a while
I got the evening feeds ready and then brought Coosa’s group in and fed everyone.
I locked the kennel up and fed Narla and the puppies.
Chris arrived to have a look at the windows and false s I want for the house.
After he left I brought Cito and Shone in and then put Kiro and Reo out in the field and top kennel area for the night.
Friday morning was awful it was cold and wet.
House dogs went out and then Narla and the puppies had their hatch open but the pups did not go out for long before they took themselves back off to bed.
We let all of the dogs out quickly and cleaned their kennels and put their food in ready for them coming back in.
Cito and Shone went out in field one and Coosa’s group in field two and the paddock.
We went out for breakfast and then when we came home the rain had eased up a bit and the meat had arrived.
Everyone went out for a short time as it was looking like the rain was not going to hold off for long.
I started cutting up the meat for lunch time and then started feeding everyone.
The afternoon was terrible so the dogs stayed in for most of the day.
I disinfected the yard outside of the new kennel block and then power washed it in the pouring rain.
When I had finished it I was soaked to the skin.
I went into the house and changed my coat, I had just poured a coffee and the rain stopped so I went straight back up to the kennel and started letting dogs out so they could have a good run before bed time.
I got the evening feeds ready and started to put them in the kennels ready for the dogs coming back in.
I put the bedding down ready for Coosa’s group coming in and then brought them down.
Narla and the puppies in with Food.
Cito and Shone into the house with the poodles and Kiro and Reo up into the top fields and kennel area.
Saturday morning was cold but dry, house dogs out and Reo and kiro back in for the day they were dripping in mud and looked disgusting.
Narla and the puppies out with food.
We went down to the kennel and started letting dogs out and feeding them.
After all the kennels were cleaned and the dogs all out and fed we washed Coosa’s kennel and Dave dried it.
Next I let Cito and Shone out and then Dave got me a radio working through his phone from my computer so we don’t have to suffer Welsh radio anymore thank god it was rubbish.
Dave picked up in the drive and paddock while I got the frozen feeds out for the next day.
House dogs went out in the bottom block and I cleaned their room and got the washing on.
While they were out we quickly had some food.
I got the lunchtime feeds ready and then started to feed everyone as we had just had one customer cancel coming to see the puppy that came back.
I phoned another lady and they said they would come this afternoon to pick her up as they had seem her already this week and one of their family have her brother.
I also had a gsd booked in for an hour one to one and they were going to be late as they did not realise where I lived.
I managed to get all of my dogs fed and Dave cleaned up in the drive and opened the gates ready for both lots of people coming in.
All I had left to do was bring Siren and Jez in when they arrived.
Dave scraped up the bits of cement that had got onto the tiles by the back door in the kennel last year when the path got laid, and then he scraped up some more lumps of concrete in the front run as it was ripping up my scraper when I tried to dry the pen.
My ladies arrived for training with their gsd, he was a bit of a handful and huge for 6 months old puppy,
I worked him alongside a six month old lab pup and then with Razzle running around the pen barking and the last dogs I used were Jez and Siren, by the end he was happy and settled.
They went away very happy so hopefully I have made someone happy and given them the confidence to continue with the training and keep their dog, he will turn out to be a nice dog if they can channel him and work him.
My puppy owners arrived to pick up their puppy, so we sorted out the paper work and off she went to her new home, they are a great family and she will be very well cared for.
After everyone had gone I locked up the gates and let three groups of dogs out in the drive and one group out in the field and then went up and power washed the top kennel area, I left Dave stapling paper work and cleaning windows and door fronts in the kennel.
After I had finished cleaning I got the feeds ready for the evening and then brought Coosa’s group in, everyone was fed and I locked up the kennel and then we cleaned out Narla and the puppies out and then Dave took the frozen food up for Coosa’s group for tomorrow.
I hosed Narla’s yard and Dave swept it while I went and let Kiro and Reo out and then I changed the paper in the house dog’s pen.
I fed the house dogs and then I cooked our dinner and did another 3 loads of washing.
We sat down and had dinner and watched the voice.
