12th April

Easter Sunday morning was nice and dry but very cold.
The house dogs went out and then Kiro in and the lab group out with food.
We went up and did the kennel dogs all fed and cleaned and had their first run.
Next we did the fire and let Coosa’s group up into the field and Cito and Shone out into field one.
The house dogs went out into the yard and I cleaned their room.
We had breakfast and then I cut up the chicken for lunchtime and got the frozen chicken out for the next day.
I cleaned ears on Budds group and then took Dolly out on her own, to try and get a mating.
I put the towels from the kennels out on the washing line.
I fed everyone and Dave was off cutting panels and sorting out fencing up at the top gate and field three.
I gave a hand to move a panel and then we went in for lunch, we were back out and Dave went back up to carry on, I washed up the bowls from the lunch time feeds and then tried Dolly again to see if I could get a mating, unfortunately no.
I did a quick count up on how many more posts we need to put an inner fence on field three for the little dogs.
We had a big fire and burnt all of the old posts and bits of broken trees and branches.
Dave and I measured the field for more fencing it is 400 metres.
I came back and swapped over dogs as Coosa’s group got everyone howling.
We only had one puppy viewer so it was a nice quiet day with odd jobs and doing the dogs.
I put out dinner on to cook and then went up to brush River.

Aimi was being a total pain she jumped out of the field three times in 15 minutes I was getting concerned that she may get her leg caught in between the line wire and be hanging by the back legs, so I had to go and get Dave to give me a hand to put up a strand of line wire with a drain pipe on it so when she climbs up the fence and tries to get a hold with her feet the pipe will spin and she will come off and land back in her own field, well that’s the theory let’s just hope it works as it will be very difficult to fence another field to keep all of the hybrids safe.
We finally got the top of the fence done and I asked Dave the time he said 6.50 my reply was great the dinner is burnt.
So we went in and had dinner and then Dave finished off at field three and put all of the tools away.
I fed the lab group and then I power washed their yard.
Kiro and Reo had a really good brush, this was the hardest I have ever known it to be brushing them, and their coats are so course now living out overnight has really changed the coats.
The house dogs were out in the garden; Cito and Shone were out in the field and Coosa’s group in the next field with another group of dogs on the drive.
I did the evening feeds and brought everyone in, by the time the last group came in it was dark.
Dave had a look at the outside light but we think the sensor has gone.
I got the morning feeds done and finished off in the kennel it was now just after 9 pm.
We were shattered so time to finish.
Monday morning was so cold you could see it was going to be a nice day later.
House dogs done and Kiro and Reo in, the lab group were out with their food.
We cleaned them out and then went up to the kennel.
Everyone out and fed and cleaned.
I finally got a mating with Dolly and Razzle which really pleased me as Dolly is going home tomorrow night.
We finished cleaning the kennels and then Coosa’s group went out in the field and Cito and Shone were out in field one.
The house dogs went out in the yard and the bottom block.
I got the washing on.
I had a customer arrive so Dave did some gardening while they were here; they travelled all the way down from East Anglia, they picked up their puppy and off home they went.
I did the fire and then the lunch time feeds, Dave was cutting back the hedge in field three as we need to be able to put the new wire right up to the fence.
Kirsty came down and we had a coffee and took the hybrids for a walk up and down the drive and then went for a play with the lab group.
After Kirsty left I fed the puppies and let the dogs out for the last run before bedtime.
I fed the Labrador group and then cleaned their yard.
We stopped for dinner and then I got all of the food ready for Sara and chicken carcasses, all of her paper work the sat nav and directions for Kirsty for the trip up to the airport.
I picked up in the drive just before dark and locked the gates.
I brought Coosa’s group in and fed them and then fed the puppies and the bitches.
I finished just after 9pm and went in for a glass of wine and an hour to chill before bed.
Tuesday morning was up early house dogs out, Kiro in and lab group fed and out.
We went up to the kennel and got all of the dogs fed and cleaned and exercised by 8 am as the gates needed to be opened for Kirsty coming in to pick up Sara for the trip up to the airport kennels and Hannah coming in to groom the little dogs.
Dave got shavings and feed and stuff into the kennel while I sorted out Sara with Kirsty.
Sara went off ok and then I did the fire and let Cito and Shone out in the field.
We got the first lot of washing done and had breakfast.
Dave did some odd jobs before he set off home, I cleaned the puppy room ready for the evening.
I had a quick chat with Hannah and went through the days grooming list.
My puppy viewers had to cancel as they broke down on route.
I went up to the butchers and picked up chicken carcasses for the lunch time feeds.
When I got back I cut up the chicken and fed everyone.
Kirsty came in after her airport trip, she did really well, no traffic and no hold ups, all the problems were on the other side lots of accidents and traffic jams.
We had a coffee and a chat about Sara and then she left so I got the next lot of washing out on the line and then swapped over dogs.
I had a bath so I was ready as I was going out to meet Rach and Barry to see our new dog we have just bought a nice CsV imported from Czechoslovakia.
We are planning to breed her with Reo and the new dog Rach has called Wolf.
I made up the evening feeds ready so after everyone was in I could load up Rach’s dog and all of the stuff I was taking up to her.
Hannah finished up and then off she went.
I brought Coosa’s group in and fed everyone, I loaded up and put my van outside the gates and let Kiro and Reo out for the night.
I was a little early to meet Rach so I popped into Asda and did some shopping and then went down to the Indian restaurant and met Rach, we had a really nice meal, I met our new CsV Ellie and then I came home and let all of the house dogs out and had a coffee and did my messages before going to bed.

The house dogs went out in the bottom block and the yard.
I did the washing and got some more out on the line.
My neighbour had a house viewing so while her visitors were around I left a quiet group of dogs on the drive and went out in the field and brushed Coosa’s group.
After the viewers had left I went and swapped over dogs and then I had a puppy viewing.
Next was to get the chicken cut up and lunchtime feeds done.
I cleaned the puppies out again and then popped into town to pick up some new gardening tools.
I got home and then did a small amount of training with Shiraz before feeding the house dogs.
I moved the labs up into the garden and cleaned their yard.
The house dog’s room needed cleaning and getting ready for the evening.
I got the morning feeds ready and then went up to the kennel and got their feeds done.
I got the cage ready for Shiraz and loaded up what I needed for training.
The kennel dogs were all fed so I brought Coosa’s group in and then fed them and locked up.
The house dogs went in and then the lab group into their kennel.
Just time to get washed and changed, put Shiraz in the van and let Reo and Kiro out for the night and off to training we went.
I arrived a bit earlier than normal so I took Shiraz for a walk and then put her back in the van and got the hall ready.
We were in the bronze class for our test, everyone did well and passed.
We had food after the certificates were given out.
The next class was the silver, they had been an exceptional class right through the course, they are all experienced dog handlers and two of them are guide dogs so they will soon be leaving the class to go to guide dog training.
All of the silver passed their test and we had more food and then cleaned up the hall and off home.
I got in and let the dogs out and had coffee and check the dogs in the kennels
Thursday morning the house dogs went out and then Kiro and Reo in and the labs out and fed.
I went up and let the kennel dogs pout and fed the puppies, everyone cleaned out, Coosa’s group were in the field and then Cito and Shone out in the field and the house dogs in the bottom yard.
I cleaned the house puppies room and then did the fire.
I had a few phone calls to answer from the night before and emails after I had finished that I put another group of dogs out in the drive.
My neighbours had a house viewing so Coosa group went into the top kennel area with their food.
My meat delivery arrived so I cut up 30 kilos and then froze the rest.
I picked up in the drive and changed the outside water buckets.
Lunch time feeds done; I sorted out some bills and then had another look around the internet for fencing.
My neighbour popped over to have a look at the dogs they are thinking about different breeds since losing their terrier.
They saw the dogs and had a look around and then I went in and had dinner.
I fed the house dogs and then back out and swapped over dogs on the drive and in the field.
I got the evening feeds ready in the kennels and then fed and cleaned the puppies out.
I picked up in the drive and locked up the gates.
The labs were fed and then went in for the night.
I hosed their yard and let the house dogs out in the garden.
Coosa’s group came in and had food, everyone else in the kennel was fed and then I locked up and let Kiro and Reo out on the drive for the night.
I finished at just after 8 pm as I was getting tired being close to the end of the week.
Friday morning was an early start as I had to take a puppy for his vaccines at the vets.
I let the house dogs out and then fed the lab group and put Kiro away for the day.
I fed the kennel dogs and cleaned everyone out.
When I had finished I let Coosa’s group out in the field and then put the puppy in the van and off to the vets.
When I got home I put the puppy back in with my girl I am keeping and then let two groups of dogs out and put Cito and Shone out in the field and did the fire.
The house dogs were out in the garden.
I stopped for breakfast and cleaned the puppy room.
The meat delivery had arrived while I was out so I got that cut up and put in the fridge for lunch time.
I had some paper work to sort out and then I started the lunch time feeding.
I put the washing out on the line.
The little dogs needed ear cleaning so I did all of them and then swapped over dogs.
I hoovered dust in the kennel and then Kirsty and Josh came down to spent time with Teeko and the lab group, Teeko really liked Josh, he was friendlier with him than he was with Kirsty.
They stayed for an hour and then I put the labs back in their yard and let the house dogs out in the garden and Cito and Shone went into the yard.
I fed the puppies and then got everyone else’s food ready.
I fed the labs and then put them away and hosed their yard.
Coosa’s group came in and then everyone was fed and locked up for the night.
Saturday morning was a damp start but not raining we had enough of that in the night.
I put the house dogs out and then Kiro in, I fed them and cleaned the puppy room.
The labs went out in there yard with food.
I let all of the kennel dogs out and fed them and cleaned them out.
I changed the vet beds on the puppies and gave them their first feed, so that will be a nice mess.
I had one of the local people come and tell me two Labradors were on the road, so I locked up my lot and went out looking, I have one female here but we can’t find the other one.
I looked for another 2 hours but couldn’t find the other one.
I will go out again this afternoon and tonight.
I got home and fed the bitch and gave her water and checked to see if she was microchipped but she isn’t.
I let all of my dogs out and then fed them all their chicken carcasses.
I fed the puppies and then sorted out microchip paper work and the next group of dogs to need vaccinating.
I had a puppy viewer come to see cockapoo’s and labradoodle adults to see what they may like in the future.
My neighbour rang to say that she would like the poodle puppy, the reason I offered her to my neighbours is her teeth aren’t perfect so I didn’t want to sell her neither did I want to put her on the internet as I couldn’t be sure where she may end up.
I got the paper work ready for the puppy and then went in for lunch.
After lunch I swapped over dogs and then Kirsty and Josh arrived to take Teeko and one of my Labrador puppies out for walk.
I shut everyone in while they were out with the dogs so there wouldn’t be any barking.
I got the evening feeds ready as I wanted to have as much done and ready as possible, just in case there was a sighting of the other Labrador.
I picked up in the drive after each group of dogs so if I needed to go out I could just lock up and go.
I have tried to spend the day around the kennel or the house so I can be near the phone as lots of people have my number, I hoped there would be a sighting of the other dog so I could use the bitch to bring the other one back to us.
I have fed watered and flea treatment as I do not want my dogs getting fleas, she is now in a kennel waiting for her friend.
Kirsty and Josh came back with Teeko and Bess the Labrador puppy they were both good and had a nice walk, Kirsty put them back in their yard and then came in for coffee.
All of my dogs alternated in the field and the drive for the rest of the day.
I left my dogs out and a group on the drive and locked up the gates and went out for another drive around.
I wrote the blog as I wouldn’t be in tonight, Kirsty is coming down and we are going out again.
Thankfully the owner contacted me and the bitch is going home soon.
